Tap Water Temperature: Your Starting Point
The initial temperature of the water going into your tub or pod plays a big role in how long it takes to reach your target cold plunge temperature:
Cold tap water (common in winter or cooler regions) may start at 55°F or lower, allowing the Chiller to reach target temperatures much faster, sometimes in under 2 hours.
Warm tap water (more likely in summer or warmer regions) might start around 65–75°F, which means the Chiller needs more time to cool the water down, often 3+ hours depending on conditions.
Ambient Temperature: Affects Cooling Speed & Retention
The surrounding air temperature also impacts how efficiently the Chiller can cool and maintain the water temperature.
In Hot Weather
- Warmer ambient temperatures and direct sunlight can naturally heat the water.
