The Nuvio Chiller is designed for efficient and precise cooling, making it easy to achieve the perfect ice bath temperature for recovery. Here’s what you need to know about the cooling time and how to optimize the process:
Cooling Time: From Tap to Ice Bath
- Water is efficiently cooled from typical U.S. tap temperatures (55–65°F) to optimal ice bath levels in tubs or pods holding up to 50–52 gallons (approximately 200 liters) within just 1 to 3 hours.
- If you're using a larger tub or our Long Pod Pro (which holds 108 gallons of water), the Chiller may take between 2 to 6 hours to bring the water down to your desired temperature.
- This cooling duration ensures your ice bath is ready for effective use.
Energy-Efficient Operation
- The Chiller is designed for 24/7 energy-efficient operation, allowing it to maintain your selected temperature without excessive energy consumption.
- An automatic thermostat ensures the water stays at your desired temperature, ready whenever you need it.
Tips for Faster Cooling
-
Use in Cooler Areas
- Place the Chiller in a climate-controlled space or cooler environment to enhance its efficiency.
- Avoid using the Chiller in areas where the temperature exceeds 85°F, as this can slow the cooling process.
-
Run the Chiller Overnight
- Run your Chiller overnight and plunge first thing in the morning before outdoor temperatures rise and your water naturally begins to warm.
-
Keep the Ice Bath Covered
- Use a Thermo Lid or similar cover to retain the cold and minimize heat exchange during cooling.
Why This Matters
- Consistency: The Chiller maintains a steady, optimal temperature for recovery, ensuring reliable performance.
- Convenience: With 24/7 operation, your ice bath is always ready, eliminating the need for frequent manual adjustments.
- Efficiency: Its energy-saving design minimizes costs while delivering top-notch results.
